You noticed some changes in your body lately and you can't help wondering if you are starting menopause. But it should not be now, not so soon because you are not even 50 years old yet. Menopause was meant for your mother and your great-aunt. It's something for older women!!

Menopause would happen to all women eventually. For most women, menopause is a landmark of aging. But, menopause doesn't make a grand entrance at the specific age, it becomes a reality for most woman through a series of physical, mental, and emotional changes, some subtle, some more dramatic and tend to emerge, evolve, intensify and fade over a period of weeks, months and even years. The menopause symptoms are unique for each individual, so women don't have the same menopause profile which can be compared. In fact, there is no one best way to prepare for or experience it. So how do you know when you are approaching menopause?

Let say you are a forty-something women and your life is pretty good. You have been at your current job long enough to feel that you have thing under control. Everything is seem to perfect and you are still young, you look ahead toward many long, happy years of health and well-being.

But, lately you have hard to fall into the sleep at night or awakening in the middle of the night only to toss and turn your way back to sleep, may a few hours later. When clock alarm goes off, you not feel that you are ready to get up and get going, because you feel tire due to not enough real restorative sleep last night. Sometimes, you just feel exhausted without knowing the reason. In fact, some days you feel that you could easily snap the head off of the next person that says anything to you. You behave out of your normal behaviors. What wrong with you?

Well, it may probably due to stress; you just need to take more time to relax, and everything will go back to normal. But, if these symptoms continue, and you may be in your early forties, what may be going on is called perimenopause, the time preceding menopause.

On average, women begin perimenopause at age forty-seven and experience it for about four years. But women can enter perimenopause in their late thirties or early fifties, and it can last from a few months to eight or ten years. You have no way of knowing precisely when or how you will begin noticing the changes that announce your coming menopause. Instead, your are more likely to find yourself one day connecting the dots of a number of odd symptoms and changes that eventually add up to the fact that you are, indeed, moving toward menopause.

Whatever it happens, you are likely to have a difficult time accepting the idea that you actually are permenopausal, but the realization can be a true relief. Since menopausal is process that must be experience by every woman, when it comes, you must learn how to manage it and take the necessary steps to begin making your passage to menopause as painless and productive as you possibly can.
