Menopause symptoms range from the very common to the downright crazy, but the more knowledgeable you are about the subject the better you can deal with each symptom. Menopause is the ending of your menstrual period; the ovaries will no longer function. Some of the most common female menopause symptom of this time include: irregular vaginal bleeding, hot flashes and night sweats, depression, irritability, vaginal dryness and bone loss. Hot flashes can be very extreme and may even make you feel ill. Hot flashes can be compared to getting low blood sugar; you feel light headed, shaky and hot. Don't get too worried, after a few seconds of sweating the body will cool it down and the sweating will stop. This may happen several times throughout the day and night or maybe only once a week, it all depends on your unique body.

Although PMS symptoms can occur anywhere from midway through your cycle to a few days after you begin your period, no one symptom should ever last more than 2 weeks. If those symptoms last longer than 14 days, report to your doctor.

The emotional issues that come about during menopause are probably the worst mental symptoms. Emotional issues can range from depression to anger; each feeling may be triggered by menopause but it is good to remember that they are real and need to be treated. When going through this difficult time you may have low self esteem and no energy.
